The FIM meets with Japanese Manufacturers in Suzuka

On Thursday 26 July, FIM President Vito Ippolito, Chief Executive Officer Stephane Desprez and Executive Director, Sport, Ignacio Verneda were at the Suzuka circuit for a meeting with representatives of the four Japanese manufacturers. This meeting was planned within the framework of a series of meetings which started last year with the support of the Japanese Federation (MFJ). The subjects discussed, were cost reduction in Road Racing, the organisation of World Championship' events on all continents and the promotion of road safety, illustrated by a presentation from Honda concerning the various projects that the world's number one manufacturer is developing in this area.On the same occasion, Mr Verneda and FIM Marketing & Communication Director Olivier Godallier each had more restricted meetings on specific subjects relating to sport and event promotion respectively. These meetings are in line with the FIM's policy of continued development of relationships with its various stakeholders through regular contacts and frequent exchanges regarding the motorcycle itself and the general situation of motorcycling in all its aspects. FIM President Vito Ippolito said after the meeting: " We have to keep holding these meetings cycles regularly. The exchange of points of view and information is a key element when it comes to strengthening the bonds between the different stakeholders, ensuring motorcycle sport's continuing development, and preparing the future of the motorcycle and the various Championships, as all of us share the same goals."
