The Dutch Red Bull Pro International venue at Mill in Holland was a superb choice by the race organisers. The established lake-side track and paddock were totally first class and the scorching weather set the scene for some fantastic racing throughout the weekend.
The format was similar to one of our own Red Bull Pro National events and selected top riders from the UK championships were drafted in together with the European stars to begin Red Bull`s International motocross show.
Buildbase Honda racer Nicolas Aubin found the tough, sand circuit to his liking and holding a fantastic start, together with eventual winner Max Nagl, they set a staggering pace in the opening qualifying race. As the race developed, so Nico`s arms began to pump up forcing him down to a sensible and cruising 9th place at the flag.
4th in times warm up on Sunday morning was backed up by a lightening start in moto 1 once again behind the factory KTM of Nagl. Nagl pulled out a small lead while Aubin battled with sand star Marc De Reuver, finishing a fantastic 3rd place.
Moto 2 was a carbon copy of the first race, with the French Buildbase Honda racer hot on the heels of Nagl once again. The track took its toll, with Nico` drifting back to 7th by the halfway stage but then he found his rhythm and his fast lines and began to creep back up the leader-board. Aubin soon moved into 4th spot and was pressuring Steve Ramon for 3rd when Aubin dropped the bike and was forced to retire.
AUBIN – “This weekend was good for me. I rode well and with a little more time in the sand I can do better, I know. The track was very, very tough. Not just deep, Dutch sand but also hard packed surface underneath. I am pleased with my speed. My CRF450 was great and the team worked well all weekend. I am really looking forward to the British GP next week”.

The leader of the Big Wheel UK Red Bull Youth Elite Cup class championship is our own Buildbase Albion Honda star Josh Gilbert who also found the conditions very tough but left the weekend with a solid 6th place overall.
All roads next weekend lead to Matterley Basin near Winchester for the UK round of the FIM World Motocross Grand Prix.
